Politics are CUTE!

From Jay Newton Small at the TIME MAGAZINE BLOG!!

An interesting endorsement for Obama today. Pelosi's BFF George Miller, a fellow Californian who chairs the House Education and Labor Committee, announced today he's endorsing Obama .

Pelosi has so far stayed out of the race. But when her top advisor who also happens to be a famous champion of women politicians endorses Obama, does it send the signal: is there room in Washington for both a Speaker Pelosi and a President Hillary?

Hi Jay! Welcome to blogging! Isn't this fun. You know, there is more to blogging than being unprofessional. If you have looked at other bloggers, you would notice the use of hyperlinks. A case where these come in handy is, let's say you start a sentence: "Pelosi's BFF George Miller," you could use a hyperlink to point to an article describing their relationship. That way we know that in fact they do have a relationship and that you didn't just pull this out of thin air (the polite term for it.) Access to links to the sources of stated assertions is one of the reasons that blogs are so popular.

I noticed that later in your little note, you refer to (I presume) Miller as "her top advisor" I am inclined to ask "Is he, in fact, her advisor, let alone her TOP advisor?" I just have to take your word for it. I just have to take the word of someone who refers to one congress person as another congress person's "BFF."
That's OK. Nancy Pelosi is GIRL so it is appropriate to infantilize her relationships, and apparently many 21st Century journalist see the world as one big High School cafeteria. Why do you suppose that is, Jay? What inspired you to use the High School lingo? You should write a piece about that. I am sincerely curious about the High School Girl mentality that seems to be so popular among the Inside Washington pudit class.

Have you re-read your entry since you pushed the submit button? If so, on the Ashamed to Proud spectrum, how do you feel about it. How do you think your High School Journalism teachers feel about it?
